Maglie Industrial Heritage Museum is located in the former Piccinno factory
The establishment of an Industrial Heritage Museum represents for the City of Maglie the creation of a cultural center in a space that is part of the collective memory of the city itself.
After the cognitive path on the history of the factory and its clients, a process of patrimonialization of the industrial property was activated, aimed at the recovery, conservation, restoration and re-functionalization, assigning the factory to MAI-Archaeoindustrial Museum of Terra d’Otranto.
The main objective pursued by the municipal administration was to give back to the local community and travelers a monument (declared of cultural interest on 23 July 2003) symbol of the industrial mesh.
